The tarot is a tool for sight.
A visual language communicating to us through signs, symbols, colours and numbers.
When we awaken to it, the universe is communicating to us in signs and symbols constantly.
When we open our sight to it, the world of synchronicities becomes available to us.
When we acknowledge archetypal energies at play, we can begin to move in harmony with the universe to create a more easeful, flowing life.
In a world dominated by mind, The Tarot is an anecdote of intuition.
The mind is the ruler of our current society, perhaps a symptom of thousands of years of patriarchy. The Tarot is a tool that recognises the existence of another source of power and knowledge, one that is beyond concepts in the mind.
It is a tool that is a bridge to access the unconscious. When we come to understand the forces at work in our unconscious, we reach deeper states of awareness, and can take back any power that may have been subverted, to become more empowered in all aspects of our lives.
“The Tarot always reveals the present” -Alejandro Jodorowsky
I consider Alejandro Jodorowsky and his book The Way of the Tarot my teacher.
Having coined the term ‘Tarology’ to describe the psychological and therapeutic aspect of reading the cards, as opposed to merely ‘fortune telling’ or reading the future, I found his approach imbued with deep wisdom.
There is nothing fatalistic in The Tarot, it will only ever reveal the energies that are already present, so that we can have greater clarity on situations and be empowered to make wiser decisions.
Life will never cease to present us with challenges, and every challenge has the potential to be an opportunity for growth. The Tarot is a tool of support, reminding us that we are not alone in the universe, that there is guidance, that we live in a connected universe where nothing is a coincidence. When we harness this, exponential growth is possible.
